New Baitoa-Taveras aqueduct design unveiled

The executive director of the National Institute of Drinking Water and Sewerage (INAPA), Wellington Arnaud, presented the design of the new Baitoa-Tavera multiple aqueduct to the municipalities of the area, located in the province of Santiago.

During the meeting, the suggestions of the community’s active forces were listened to and then, in accordance with the technical criteria, the appropriate ones were included and, subsequently, the next step will be the bidding of such an important work.

The project will include a water treatment plant with a production capacity of 100 liters per second, construction of four pumping stations: two for drinking water and two for raw water, installation of 142,000 meters of piping and construction of three new tanks, among other components, with an estimated investment of RD 1,460,000,000.

“We are focused on guaranteeing drinking water, in quantity, quality and pressure, to every Dominican household, honoring the word of President Luis Abinader, who is committed to improving the quality of life of our people”, expressed Arnaud.

The activity was attended by the mayors of Baitoa and Puñal, Bernardo López and Enrique Romero; Congressman Nelson Marmolejos, and Inapa’s Director of Works Supervision and Oversight, José Aybar.
