Through the social network Twitter, the Permanent Mission of the Dominican Republic to the United Nations (UN) announced the meeting where they discussed the Haitian issue.
President Luis Abinader met with the representative of the United Nations, Canadian Ambassador Bob Rae, where they discussed the role that the international community should play in helping Haiti.

“…to join efforts in sensitizing the international community on the urgency of prioritizing and attending to the terrible situation in Haiti” reads the institution’s letter.
This meeting takes place in the midst of a crisis in which Haiti is immersed, where the Dominican government has requested the help of international organizations to intervene and support the neighboring nation.
