Recommends DR to maintain aviation safety levels

Countries like the Dominican Republic must remain vigilant to ensure safety levels in the aviation sector, due to what the sector contributes to the economy in addition to tourism.

This was stated by Fabio Rabbani, regional director of the Office for South America of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), while participating in the meeting of the Pan American Regional Safety Group RASG.PA, which is being held in the country.

He said that the country has to be supported by civil aviation authorities that ensure safety oversight mechanisms, in a joint work involving the State and the aviation industry.

“Securing operations is always something that gives benefits and that is why we have to ensure that it is sustainable over time,” he said.

Rabbani specified that operational safety must be consolidated, so for this, regulations, processes and training must be in place, according to Hoy.

“Aviation security is a sign of confidence and the DR enjoys the benefits of an aviation that has opened the door to tourism and business,” he added.

For his part, the director of the Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC), Héctor Porcella, assured that operational security in the country is at the highest standards, as it complies with the international organizations that have to do with the aviation sector.
