Cap Cana expands its lodging offerings: 3,000 hotel rooms approaching capacity

Hector Enrique Baltazar Carpio, Cap Cana’s Vice President of Operations and Development, said that of the 5,000 rooms under construction, which will be added to the 7,500 that the destination currently has, the most anticipated are those of The Residences at The St. Regis Cap Cana project, which will have a 200-room hotel and 70 residences.

“Of the 7,500, 2,800 are hotel and 4,700 are real estate (condominium rooms and residential units), projecting that in the next 36 months Cap Cana will exceed 12,000 rooms on offer, both real estate and hotel,” he said.

He informed that the businesses in the process of investment in Cap Cana with the constructions that are currently being carried out in the destination are around or exceed 400 million dollars, which also includes Dorado Park, the second theme park in the destination city.

“Within Cap Cana, construction activity does not stop, because of the 45 million square meters, 125,000 are approved for construction; in those meters some 20,000 rooms are marketed and there are already 5,000 under construction,” he emphasized.
