DR for the first time in the diving final at Paris 2024

Jonathan Ruvalcaba is among the top 12 in diving and advances to the 3-meter final with a mark of 416.20 in his 6 attempts. With hopes of being able to close on a high note, the finals will be held this Thursday at 9:00 a.m.

Ruvalcaba, a Dominican nationalized Mexican, reached the semifinals of the 3-meter springboard diving semifinal by placing 18th with a score of 363.15 in the competition held at the Paris Aquatic Center, where the Olympic Games are being held.

The diver was born in Mexico, but competes under the flag of our country. Since 2019 he decided to wear the colors of the Dominican Republic because, in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the Mexican Swimming Federation decided to exclude him from the national team that represented Mexico in that competition.

“Now for Dominican Republic and well I am more than grateful. They were the country, but many people who were interested in this project that I had personal and well, thanks to Dominican Republic I continued diving. It is very gratifying for me to represent the Dominican Republic, and as I sometimes tell my friends in other interviews, I don’t represent one country, I represent two,” Jonathan Ruvalcaba told ESPN.
