Tourists love the DR: 92% would repeat their visit

92% of tourists visiting the Dominican Republic intend to return to vacation in the country, reflecting a high level of satisfaction with their experience, according to a Mitur survey conducted between January and July 2024.

Mitur carried out its analysis of the tourist experience, conducting 248,973 surveys that addressed key aspects such as satisfaction, destinations visited, trip planning, use of social networks and gastronomy.

Of the more than 48,000 surveys conducted to evaluate the tourist experience, the results indicate that five out of ten participants carried out outstanding activities such as visiting Saona Island (15 %), snorkeling (12 %), Four Wheels rides (11 %), excursions to the Colonial Zone (7 %) and horseback riding (4 %), among other activities.

In addition, 80% of tourists expressed their desire to repeat the activities they enjoyed during their stay.

As for lodging, 78% of the tourists chose to stay in hotels, while 8% chose to stay with friends or relatives, another 8% made a short-term rental, 4% used their own lodging and the remaining 2% registered as time-share.

According to Diario Libre, 96% of the visitors said they would repeat the selected lodging.

The most popular destinations were Punta Cana, with 40% of visits, followed by Santo Domingo (19%), Puerto Plata (13%), La Romana (11%), SamanĂ¡ (8%), Santiago (7%) and Barahona (2%). More than 93 % of tourists indicated that they would repeat the destination visited.
