DR on the hunt for South American tourists at Colombia’s largest trade show

Colombia is currently the Dominican Republic’s fifth largest tourist destination, representing great opportunities for growth, due to the popularity of Dominican vacation resorts in the South American country, as well as the powerful air connectivity created by the Arajet airline between the two countries.

With a view to increasing not only the arrival of Colombians, but of the entire South American region, leaders of the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) and Asonahores, will attend the Vitrina de Anato, an event to be held from February 28 to March 1.

In the case of Asonahores, the bet is such that on this occasion its main director, David Llibre, will participate in the largest Colombian tourism fair. The tourism representative will board a special Arajet flight that will depart this Tuesday 27th from Santo Domingo, with a 45-minute stopover in Puerto Plata and then land in Bogota.

Colombians, Brazilians, Argentines… already feel great attraction for the star destination of the DR: Punta Cana, the objective now is to promote the offer of Puerto Plata, a destination that is doing very well in cruises, but that in its hotel business still does not see a significant upturn.
