CEO Grupo De Valle: Success in RD participation in ANATO

Businessman Edward De Valle, CEO of Grupo De Valle, described as a “real success” the participation of the RD in the tourism fair “La Vitrina de Anato”, which was held for three days in Bogota, Colombia, where he announced the construction of a new hotel in Puerto Plata.

He said that La Quinta Hotel & Suites by Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, is the new international brand that will arrive in Puerto Plata to bring 115 new rooms to that destination on the north coast of the RD, immediately creating 200 new direct jobs in its construction phase.

“What better scenario to announce the construction of our hotel La Quinta Puerto Plata, in this fair ‘La Vitrina de Anato’, where the RD dedicates its participation to the destination that saw the birth of tourism in that beautiful Caribbean island,” said De Valle when making the announcement at the Dominican stand.

The CEO participated in the fair

According to the press release, the businessman participated in the Anato fair, where he held important business meetings and recalled that La Quinta is the first U.S. branded property built in Puerto Plata in more than 25 years.
He noted that the new hotel will have 115 rooms, a lobby bar, a restaurant, co-working and meeting spaces, a well-equipped wellness center and a swimming pool.
He indicated that La Quinta Hotel & Suites by Wyndham Hotels and Resorts is coming to Puerto Plata at a very special time and taking into account that Wyndham RD Premios ColombiaRewards has 110 million members.
“Those 110 million Wyndham Rewards members have full confidence in the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts brand and add to that the fact that the United States contributed more than 47% of the tourists who visited this beautiful Caribbean island,” said De Valle.

The businessman offered this information while talking to journalists who covered the Anato Showcase, which was held from February 28 to March 1 in the Colombian capital.
He also informed that La Quinta Puerto Plata has joined La Quinta San Francisco de Macorís, which is currently under construction.

Investment climate

He highlighted the investment climate that exists in the RD and the “good work” being done by the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, together with the private sector.

He said that the fair was an “ideal platform” to achieve important agreements and promote the RD, especially Puerto Plata, as a tourist destination.
“This version of Anato turned out to be an ideal scenario to carry out major negotiations that will impact in favor of Dominican tourism, taking into account that Colombia has become one of the main countries of origin of tourists to the RD,” said De Valle.

The businessman, exclusive owner in the country of the La Quinta franchise along with other Wyndham brands, defined as “extraordinary” the roashow presented by the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, before some 300 travel agents, tour operators, airline representatives and other industry players.
