Arajet to double its flights between Jamaica and the DR

Starting next May of this year, the airline Arajet will double its direct flights between Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, according to Jamaica’s Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Aubyn Hill.

According to the Dominican Republic embassy in Jamaica, the inaugural flight with Arajet airline, which connects both destinations, took place last November 14.

Due to the demand for these, they have decided to increase them from two per week to four.Arajet

“It used to take four to five hours to get to one of the destinations, and now you fly in one hour and twenty minutes to Jamaica… So if they are doubling the trips in such a short period, in less than a year, it means that business is going well,” the minister indicated, according to Listin Diario.

In this sense, the Jamaican minister indicated that among the next projects that they would like to implement is that of a tourist ferry between Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, as there is between this country and Puerto Rico.
